@alternant. that's because the interpretation that ai is a big collage machine is just really widespread for some reason Dont really know where it came from I mean even when it first started with DALL E there was a big information screen on the website that told you how it works And dont worry nobody really understands training The general mechanism is just Heres an input Heres your output Heres the correct output Heres how much to change your numbers by to get closer to the desired output Rinse and repeat till each part of the model understands its role really well Remember these models are based off of brains so theres "neurons" guiding everything In something more simple like recognising numbers from images, theres gonna be like 2 layers of processing neurons and certain parts of the model might be for analysing the loops in the image, or curves in the line Things like that to figure out what number the image might be It's honestly really chaotic and random, we just guide the chaos to an optimal direction Now this is already something we cant fully comprehend yet, and it just uses 2 layers of neurons Stable diffusion uses 16 We can sorta get what each block does in the macro sense since we designed it but we do not know the specifics it's something were super lost on The computations just arent something we can understand
