Theres a difference between using AI to generate some quick iconography versus using it and claiming you are an artist. I use AI in my D&D games, to make some custom tokens, but i wouldnt dare to ever call myself an artist or claim that what the machine is producing is art.
The issue is also that you probably wouldnt have hired someone to create the art if you didnt have the machine, whereas the machines are being used by those trying to sell a product to cut costs and create inferior products. I see so many apps using AI art, and it's embarrassing to look at.
Its about intent, attitude, and use rather than the actual machines themselves, just like any tool.
