If you can get good (and often better) results the easier way, that way will probably win.
I've had lots of art training and know how to draw, but AI is simply on another level to humans. I don't care how well you use a pencil, you're simply not going to be able to draw the sort of things that AI is producing (especially not the animated photorealistic stuff).
