I don't think AI will do anything we don't already have, it is just a better version.
It is a better autocomplete and a better code generator.
Which is amazing but we had those already.
So yes it technically makes things easier but so did C when people were coding in assembly and yet that didn't make developers disappear.
If AI reaches the point where its making, maintaining, and modifying all average to large projects it would have to use so much energy that it would be too expensive to be sustainable
