How do we know it's not lying. Well, we can verify much if not all what it says. In as much AI tools are not tools to generate facts from scratch. You need to already have some background knowledge, do your own research, think critically, and use AI as a tool. The same way we use a word processor, a browser with many tabs, a spell checker, and bookmarks, AI can help us to find stuff, sometimes to summarise it or at the very least help us to format things, eg generate a bibliography or a list of references for your work.
