Why does it matter? Because I can ask an AI all day long about quantum mechanics and it will reproduce language that you can find in almost every textbook about the subject. The problem is that that language is not correct. It's a historical artifact and you won't know that until you have used quantum mechanics actively in the lab. A student who just gets started will NOT have enough experience to tell when the AI messes up because the training material was false.
