@justyouraveragefallofthewest At least photography eventually evolved and settled down into its own separate niche thanks to the photos being easily recognizable as, well, actual photos and not paintings. AI on the other hand produces end results almost if not entirely identical to the media it sources from, which naturally makes it much more intrusive in such spaces. Plus, as shown in this video, the process of drawing digitally is not fundamentally different from the process of drawing traditionally despite the minor differences.
And if you ask me, the ideal technological evolution of art should've been Brain-computer interfacing technology like Neuralink where you control each individual stroke with your mind. Now THAT would have been a new form of technological artistry I would readily embrace. Not getting "personal painter digital slave" to commission from.
