This is inevitable, so the anime/studio is more exploring where AI fits into the process because uh... no amount of people openly decrying AI use in media is going to stop the majority from consuming it anyway. For most people, media is media, who made it or how it's made isn't a concern, they only care that it doesn't look, sound or feel like absolute crap.
Executives/shareholders want to 100% replace people, but this studio is trying to use AI to produce something of quality, and notably, it still requires human guidance to do that between motion capture, scene composition, design docs, story boarding, etc.
