right now what we have is LLMs calculating strings of text that sound convincing, so i don't understand why you're taking the future proposed by corporations at face value. but even if: it currently looks like any sentient robot will have been put into this world by someone, and most likely by some megacorp, not your neighbor. we're looking at a very differently leveled playing field. in that case the question of robot rights should be looked at through the lens of corporate and property rights, not human rights. which are highly contested fields in themselves.
