Yeah.. seems ridiculously optimistic and dismissive. I understand that it doesn't seem probable AI will pose a serious threat, but to act like it's impossible because we will always control it, or it will innately be good? That just seems foolish. I'm pretty optimistic, I do think the most likely outcome is positive, but it was hard to take these people seriously. It's like getting in a car and one passenger is saying "could you please drive safely" and these people are in there saying "why would he crash? That's just silly, if he is going off the road he can simply press the brake pedal, look, it's right there under his feet. I guess we should worry about aliens abducting us, too?"
