People won’t be replaced by “something”. They’ll be replaced by someone who profits replacing them with AI and doesn’t care about causing social catastrophe. Nothing good can ensue from extensive unemployment and it’s known that over 20% people fired means social rebellion and disorders. That’s the last thing that governments want. People should not give up studying: AI will replace plumbers, electricians etc…but it won’t replace anyone if people decide for themselves. That’s democracy.
