No that's not what is being said. Math doesn't have bias. What the video said is that the diversity of the dataset effects how biased the algorithm is. An example is the mug example. A mug is a cup but since the algorithm is trained to detect solely mugs, if you tried to make the algorithm detect cups with the same data set, it would have a lower accuracy, since its biased. In machine learning we say that this algorithm is overfitted to the data set. The algorithm in this case has a bias towards choosing mugs. It's not the math but the implementation that causes bias. Hopefully that makes more sense.
