You have a constant fallacy in your judgment. You Look at US economy as if it was state owned or nationalized. It is not. US economy run by multinational corps who dont care for people of any nation only profit they can extract and will do anything and everything for it. And right now US is paying with economy and future for it bad managed past (most likely all US achievement during cold war maid true debt) and now is time to pay the piper. But funny thing is that economically speaking US debt gone past the Rubicon and US people will never get rid of it. Corp's seeing a future carcass on the market are picking its bones even if US kicking and screaming. One of reasons that US starts all this wars for oil and resources is cose US keeps plugging their own economical holes with chip for them and normal priced raw resources. And AI are just one of testing runs for mega corps to try out new way's to make self managed system even if they fail, they are to big to fail making the potential death of those corps a gov problem at same time them mega corps dont need to think about saving their own ass. THis is one sided relationship when a corp is to being for a country. There is a fix for this problem in form of nationalization but it's hard to do (especially in US reality) and if not don correctly or fast you risk the fleeing of the mega corps all together form US market.
