i am definitely one of those people.
they are trying to sell the alignment work, but the alignment work *is* the problem. its well aligned AIs making the deepfakes, doing exactly what the operator wanted them to.
this is not the right focus at all, and pushing people to support spending a lot of money and political will on doing the wrong thing.
instead of focusing on alignment, we need public control, governance, and transparency over the training data.
