I think commissioning a real artist is the best comparison to using an AI image generator when tech bros say they are artists. While value in art is subjective (I think AI is slop), in both scenarios you are not an artists as all you’ve done is described what you want made, and the pictures are made for you by an outside force. Telling a tech bro they are commissioning art has won me a couple arguments.
