The extreme AI doomerism industry is literally financed by the big AI companies because it a) makes their product seem more important and b) it justifies claims by OpenAI and such that the superintelligent AI will eventually arise and they're the only chance to do it right; so they should get funded by the state and open source competition should be eliminated because you can't trust the public with this dangerous technology
