@LavenderTowne Alrighty, considering that AI is a broad topic, I’ll lay out some of my own thoughts about it. 1: Ai steals art. One of the most common myths involving AI is that it takes a bunch of pictures, then “slams” them together to create its own thing, which isn’t right. What AI learning does is look at all the reference images to create its own piece; you can compare it to us as humans having to at least once see an apple to be able to draw our own apple. Yes, you could argue that in the end it’s obviously not a real human, but the fact stands that there is no real stealing happening in the normal kind of AI art that most people use (why I say ‘normal’ is because I’m not trying to pretend like there aren’t specific ways to use AI art from images that you choose beforehand). The same goes for people, some joking and some serious talking about uploading horrible pictures so that AI trips on itself and becomes worse—which doesn’t work that way/can’t happen. 2. What is considered art? This is the topic that actually has no real answer; art can’t simply be put under a Google definition; it’s a thing that rather resonates with the person. Art can be the physical creation of something, or it could also simply be an emotion that a person tried to convey or how they felt during the creation of their piece. AI art, by no means, can’t be under that category; we have to remember that behind it are still people who wanted to show something, which they rightfully can do. AI art still can have creativity in it if you just actually look into it and don’t simply roll your eyes, like a friend of mine who made a couple of pixel-styled cards for a game (no real thing, simply a free-time activity). The imagery on the card was AI; the editing and the idea around it weren’t.  3. The constant hate around it. Another thing that I notice is how anyone using AI immediately becomes a target—which isn’t right and genuinely shouldn’t be found encouraging behavior. By that I mean that I understand that some AI-using people are complete losers who go out of their way to comment under people’s art things like “I could do the same but much faster” and yada yada, but most people that I met using AI never do such; they simply want to create something to show, then move on and live a life. Yet they will get constant hate if their AI piece dares to scrape the home page of someone, going as far as murder threats. If I ever see one side extremely hating the other, then the traditional art community never fails to deliver, lol. I understand disliking something—but genuinely spreading hate and being proud of it is something we as a community need to stop encouraging, for both sides. I say it also because keep in mind, I genuinely draw both digitally and on paper during my free time; all my points aren’t biased, I know, and I improve on how to use a pen daily. And many others do too, while still enjoying goofing around with AI. People should stop taking others so shallow; there are more things that happen underneath the simple AI pics. (Some traditional artists even get in the fire because they “used AI” while they didn’t, which is once again our own community doing the work.).  4. AI art takes over everything. This is a complicated topic and one that can be truly worrisome. Many websites have been often flooded with AI pieces; finding traditional art is becoming harder. Huge companies also cutting down on time and costs by using AI instead of hiring real professional artists is indeed a problem too, which I fully understand being put off by. It takes jobs; it makes things look even more soulless. And to this I agree—but I also believe that we can expect traditional art to become more valuable and demanded if AI art takes over. But then again, that’s just my own speculation. Just as many switched and now use digital art—there still are and will be people who draw/paint on paper.  5. AI being used for vile purposes. I saw your other video about this topic, and I agree—but this isn’t the AI problem; this is us as humans being at fault for using a tool wrongly. Yes, AI can be used to spread false things, but so could Photoshop beforehand.  6. AI art shouldn’t ever be compared to traditional art. Why I say this is because I believe they are two fully different types of art, which is like comparing painting to sculpting (might not be the best analogy, but I hope to convey the point). AI art should always stay and only be with AI art, and so goes for the traditional kind; it is simpler that way when you think about it. (This point is only said for people who compare the two, not a point meant for all problems that it faces.) That’s the overall thing I stand by. I’m not “pro-AI” nor “anti-AI,” as said earlier; they’re both activities that I found fascinating in their own ways. And sorry for my original comment coming out rather disrespectful; I didn’t expect anyone to see it anyway and just moved on ^^
