@therealJFK1963 Then you have no reason to support AI image generators in their current state. Current AI image generators are fed with artwork, made by people who did not consent to having their used in such a way. Including artists that are DEAD and literally could not consent, like Bob Ross. And that IS theft, whether you like it or not. They took what doesn't belong to them and decided to use it in a way that no self-respecting artist would want their art to be used. Imagine you had this craft of your, be it art, music, cooking, whatever, that was special to you. Doing it brings you enjoyment, you have fun despite whatever mistakes you make. You have spent years learning this craft, and have even been considering trying to make a side hustle with it. All of the sudden, some chump comes by and takes all of your work (that you took hours, days, weeks, months, and even years to make), without even asking you if you were okay with, and feeds it into a machine so that machine can recreate the work within seconds. And when you dare get upset because you didn't agree to having your work used like that, the jerk who stole your art goes "Lol, get over yourself, I didn't steal it, and if you didn't want me to use it, you shouldn't have let it be visible to the public". You shouldn't have let your work be visible to the public? Well how else were you supposed to get the attention necessary to start a business using the craft you took forever to learn?! And how were you supposed to know that letting the public see your work, would result in it getting used in something that might not have even existed at the time you decided to make it public? That's how it feels. That's how real artists feel. And on top of that, we have people like you get all pissy when things like Nightshade and Glaze are created and worked on, because how DARE we try to protect our hard work from being used. In. Ways. That. We. Did. Not. Agree. To. How DARE we try to protect what we made, what we OWN. Getting mad about Nightshade, regardless of whether or not it currently works, is like getting mad at a homeowner for pointing a gun, even if it was actually empty, at a robber that broke into their house.
