@pastelcatnip this isn't political. Neither side is helping the issue at all. Has this artist tried reaching out to their local legislator to try getting laws in place? If not all they're doing is throwing a temper tantrum.
I'm a democratic socialist i detest the right. I took a stance right there.
But in the ai debate neither side is all that great.
The ravenously against like this artist look like unhinged psychos.
And the pro ai look like mindless sheep who don't think far ahead at all.
But until this artist bothers to do anything they're just screaming into the void.
Poisoning their art doesn't do anything. Yes I watched the video. But this isn't about the poisoning actually poisoning. Its more about the fact if you successfully poison a model they developers just roll it back to prior to the poisoning and you've ended up doing nothing. All someone needs to do is mimic the artists style and shove it in an ai and the poisoning ended up useless.
And if you think that can't happen, look around people make a career out of mimicking a certain style and making porn, it will happen.
This is why people say its inevitable. Poisoning doesn't ultimately do anything. We need laws, legislation. As much as I hate the government, the government is needed to make corporations actually listen.
