Video games has its own problems. There is a life cycle to games and then come the layoffs. Games are a hit driven business. if your game bombs, studios usually pull the plug and then come the layoffs. Also there has been increased competition. Game engines improved and templatized systems so now anyone can build a game. And whats not to say future AI will also templatize UI and UX in video games as well. Also future generations may embrace AI in games, or just not care. I worked in video games at a successful company that had half a dozen studios. Layoffs are a plague in that industry.
