He isn't missing something, because an LLM is not effective as a navigation or motor model.
It is basically an ultra-advanced autocomplete. It isn't another step on the road to AGI, but a sidegrade path to NLP (which has been around for decades).
The same breakthrough that created ChatGPT and its subsequent funding bump is now used to somewhat boost other fields through larger data ingesting capabilities, but we are still ways off from a technological equivalent to either the human motor cortex or frontal cortex.
