LLMs cannot reason all they can do is complete your prompt. Its attempt at reasoning is just chaining together various autocompletes…
LLMs actually started out as autocomplete for your phone… LLMs ever never meant for intelligence to the degree we expect today. LLMs have reached plateau and will not improve more than another 10-20%. In fact the more training they do at this point the more hallucinations the LLM will produce. They trained the models to specific things so it can copy work that it has seen before but it cannot reason things on its own. If you were to come up with unpublished novel question the AI will fail miserably even worse it will think it was correct and will trick everyone to believe it’s correct…
So yes modern AI is a hype bubble it is all bs. Most “AI” still just means cheap labor overseas… this is has been going on for 10+ years. AI gives corporations the excuse to lay you off and then their stock price jumps up… it is all hype and bubble and I’m watching the crash right now finally
