I dont work in AI. I do have an IT background but havent touched a PC for anything other than AI hobby stuff and video games for years. But for someone like you, that actually works in the industry, if that's even true, should know better. You are aware that the development of this tech is not exactly centralised and your company is one of thousands trying to get a leg up, whilst developments elsewhere are outpacing your individual company by orders of magnitude, especially if you work for an aussie tech firm, lol.
Competition is fierce, the goal is to secure compute. The hunger for that specific resource is why its 'hyped' as you say. Trust me, its valued exactly what its worth. There is no bubble and there are literal wars being fought over this tech right now.
