@catzzzvb They could disallow it from the competition. It wouldn't stop it completely, but as you said, AI isn't hard to recognize most of the time, especially when its trying to write 50k words. It would set a standard that would allow them to remove genAI articles from the running, as well as reaffirming to the human writers the competition was made for that AI is not allowed to encroach on their space.
It's pretty clear the reason they decided to support AI with their whole chest is that they're being sponsored by a generative AI company.
