We don't even have completely driverless cars, what makes you think we could have driverless trucks carrying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cargo and weighing thousands and thousands of pounds? Drivers will always need to be in the driver seat of a "autonomous" vehicle. Whether they're paid less or more, we'll just have to wait and see. I personally believe the savings an electric, long distance semi truck with self driving capabilities can provide will be passed on the drivers in the form of greater wages and better benefits. But that's just my opinion.
