@disorderandregression9278 To be fair, I also think you're generalizing a little bit. There's a plurality of opinions on the aiwars subreddit, and I've seen a few people with an opinion similar to mine. I don't post there (or on reddit at all, really) but I do lurk just to observe the discourse. Apologies for misinterpreting your first comment, by the way. And really, there isn't a good way to 'filter' these people out. Often the ones with the truly bad opinions re: AI are extremists or trolls. Or both. It does no good to consider these people part of either side, because they bring nothing of value to the conversation and should be ignored. They also often get called out by a lot of other people on both sides of the argument. The main issue is that the technology is new and difficult to fully understand and CONSTANTLY changing - unless you're actively using and learning new things about the tech, you're liable to fall behind in a matter of months. And the layman - what most of the "real AI bros" are, despite their claims otherwise - have never bothered trying to use A1111 or ComfyUI, instead sticking to the most bottom-of-the-barrel, web-based, prompt-only options that offer little to no modularity. I just wish more people would have an honest, unbiased conversation about AI as a tool, rather than immediately defaulting to "AI Bad in all cases and if you use it for any reason you're NOT an artist". It makes those of us who truly want to learn and integrate the tech into our traditional art processes feel entirely unwelcome in the art community. I don't post anything I make with AI involvement because I know people would just ignore my entire workflow and call it 'slop', and that's not cool.
