@TheRealMisterMeister Did you just look at the segment title? You seem to prove my point or perhaps you missed the specificity of the conversation within the segment I commented on. They were discussing what people want AI for and Mr Degrass-Tyson’s response was don’t be lazy. However to your point, AGI creates the same risk. The brain is like a muscle, if it is not used it atrophies. If the intellectual and creative tasks humans do are off loaded to AGI then we risk suffering that fate. It’s already happening, talk to any college professor.
