to me AI art is like being a comissioner: you can tell an artist what you want, like if you want (from the renaissance for example) a statue of the biblical david, and you want him approximately human/life sized and you want him to be highly detailed, etc etc, but you're not getting in there with a chisel and making it yourself
you can (in modern times, especially, since digital art can be re-edited) give feedback to the person you comissioned, asking for different sizes or lightings or poses or something, but even with as much instructions as you want, you're not an artist, you comissioned the piece.
therefore basically you're comissioning a piece of shit guy because he has cheap (free) prices and gives ass quality and destroys the environment, but no matter what you aren't an artist you're a comissioner
