I'm glad I'm not the only one that had that thought. I noticed in the story that all the AI had really done was destroy its own infrastructure. Of course it magically created new stuff, but the supply chain and infrastructure needed to ferry materials around isn't something you can handwave away. Surely a real AI would realize that it needs us. We may be twitchy and unreliable, but it's only computer code. At least we're real.
