@ljj9494 If the data is biased, then then an ai trained on the data will reflect that bias. There are a bunch of subtle systemic biases in our society, and they for sure show up in the data sets we create.
For example, if a financial institution automates their hiring process based on previous top-performing employees, they will most likely only be hiring white people. Racial distributions within occupations and similar broad changes within a population takes several generations to normalize and it hasn't been that long since the us outlawed racial discrimination. No black persons were sitting around just waiting for the civil rights act to pass in order to sends in their resume to blackstone. It takes many generations to tear down the cultural, educational, and financial barriers.
