I feel like that's an artist thing, the general public doesn't care about "the artist" as such, unless it's maybe a well known name and then largely cause it allows them to find other works of them that they might like as well.
What about the emotional perspective of the prompter though? Sure, it's less effort and less learning. But people keep talking about "story behind the image". If it isn't pure AI slop generated just for clicks or something, there's likely a story on why the prompter wanted this and this detail in the image, etc.
Hell even if "for clicks" theres a life story behind that on why they want those clicks etc
