@984francis The only machine that has the physical capacity to 'self replicate" is a lathe. Granted that a lathe can be run by AI, but it would hardly be capable of building a 'terminator".
Now, AI might be capable of 'taking over' society on an administrative level, and controlling humans that way. But if it came to a conflict, AI would be incapable of dealing with 'the more primitive aspects".
