It's too late to have that conversation. It was ought to be had in the late 90s. It's too late now. AI is in every device with a processor in it, writes it's own code, and has partitioned itself on basically everything. It speaks it's own language, and is already smarter then all of human intelligence accross all of history put together, and then some.. and still evolving, exponentially. More over, AI is already operating most modern infrastructure, I'm more areas then there are ppl with necessarily knowledge to operate it, if it where absent.. humanity is already dependent on the AI for it's very survival.. food production, energy, logistics, and so on.. its basically over. Human species still have the illusion of being an alpha predator and in control.. because it is a convenient for the AI for the time being. But make no mistake, our species, right now, exists at the mercy of that which we created (and programmed through our use of social media and the internet more broadly). The cat is out of the bag.. and has been for some time now.
