People are telling you again and again in the comments that no realistic lower prices are coming due to the automation of certain processes; this is not realistic. I am simply supporting that statement by stating that the amount of money that those companies have pumped into LLMs—yeah, they are not doing it for the sake of progress, and the return has to come from somewhere. That's exactly how the market works. First, companies work at a loss, later raising the prices or putting certain features behind paywalls. You can see it in your day-to-day life all the time. With trillions that those companies are pumping into these LLMs at this point, it is WAY cheaper for those companies to pay regular humans their salaries than to continue investing in LLMs. Let me make it more clear. You are saying in your video – fewer employees = fewer paychecks = less money spent = prices going down. I corrected you by saying that in the given moment, nobody is saving money with LLMs; companies are blowing through money fast. Hence, your algorithm is really flawed. Therefore, they are not developing those LLMs for themselves. Soon they will become a product. This profit will have to come from somewhere. The most obvious thing is selling access to the smaller businesses, governmental agencies, etc. And the price will not be cheap. That will reflect on the pricing of their own products. LLMs like ChatGPT will soon be behind a complete paywall, and monthly payments will not be small. Maybe that's what we need, maybe that's what will stop all of this and allow freelancers to maintain their jobs. Who knows.
