i think a huge part why AI is so prevolent is the perception that you have to be succesful with something if you por a lot of effort into it or else that effort somehow wasn't "worth" anything. If i start taking dancing lessons and get really good at it with the purpose of generating an audience (very important distinction i feel) and i don't then i "wasted" my time, money and effort. whereas with a simple generated dance video if that doesn't do well then who cares, it's very low stakes. The feeling i get from todays society is that a lot of it is very performative so a lot of people don't do things out of sheer passion anymore but just to be seen and aknowledged. Passion surely is a part of it but the fear of wasting your time on it if it doesn't pan out is just to great for some people.
