Yup, I always tell people innate talent is a shortcut, it makes the trip to get where you want to be shorter, but that's all. I was born with innate artistic talent, but I didn't work nearly as hard as others did, and now I sit here and look at what people make and aspire to make my art as good. Talent is not the solution, it's merely a factor in the equation. With hard work you get to the result you want. Meanwhile AI art is a lazy cheat tool, you didn't work at it, you weren't born with it, it doesn't come from you. It's made by AI in a vain attempt to mimic real art and it takes away from those who have put in the numerous hours required to be an artist. I'm not entirely against AI being used for art, but I don't think it should replace hard work, if you use it to for linework or to help in sketching then that's fine. If you want to use it for shading but did all the line work and sketching yourself, that's also at least more acceptable than doing nothing other than maybe giving a specific set of prompts to the AI for it to make the image (many of said prompts being widely available for anyone and everyone to use). Instead of it feeling original, it just feels fake.
