So if you request a specific order in a restaurant, you tell them everything you want and they make the food for you, are you the chef? The issue isn’t with people using AI as a tool or aid, which is what it should be used for, but claiming they themselves are artists, even though it’s the AI program itself that created the image. If I tell it to generate a beautiful scene, it will within seconds. But that’s the machine doing it and not me, it takes minimal effort. It learns from the work of actual artists. Where is the satisfaction or fulfilment in generating an image? There is something so rewarding about building up the skill yourself, and having the ability to create with your own hands. It’s what makes us HUMAN. The issue is not using tools or aids to help us in art, the issue is doing the bare minimum and calling yourself an artist as if you have any sort of skills. Writing a few prompts is not a skill. You can even ask chatgpt to write prompts FOR you. This doesn’t give someone a sense of accomplishment by writing a few words down. There is no reward in that
