@AmazingVeroHeals42 The only thing I would really disagree with you on is the idea of AI limiting you to be an artist. AI isn't preventing you from picking up a pencil and paper. If you want to draw or paint? Go right ahead. People will continue to do so just as they have with the advent of Photoshop, etc. Some people I imagine still prefer to do traditional work. Others take their work, scan it in and then use a tablet while others are all digital. The idea of someone becoming a professional artist that gets paid has always been a tough one. That's where the phrase "Starving artist" comes from. Even before AI mind. There were already more artists than there were jobs. It's always been very competitive. Take that from someone who has a degree in Graphic Design. I count myself fortunate I have a job that I went to school for. But I'm not really worried about AI taking my job. Why? I work for a smaller family owned business. (Not my family mind, but it's not owned by some huge corporation like Disney). So as you point out? The corporations are kind of the problem there. Chances are if you are pursuing a career in art? You already have a main job with art being something you do on the side. Maybe selling comissions as a source of supplemental income. But again that isn't new. Even before AI that was the case. As far as financial limitations? That in an ironic way is one of the benefits to AI too. AI is now available to the public. It provides a new medium and avenue to people to express themselves by realizing their ideas. You don't even need a high end PC or GPU now. There are free platforms out there like Mage (which has paid tiers) or even BING ai. I again agree with Shad that the artists who have honed their skills already; already have a leg up if they choose to dip their toe into AI. What I can also say is that as someone who has to manipulate images almost daily? Photoshop's AI has made my job easier. Not replaced it, but it complements my existing workflow. It might have taken me 15-20 minutes to clone someone out of a picture or something. But generative fill can do it without me having to rely on clone stamp, etc. As far as stealing? I would just offer this. If you go back to the Renaissance painters? There was actual art theft even back then. You might have heard of a guy named Michelangelo? His studio was broken into and work was actually stolen. Artists even then imitated other's ideas (especially to gain commissions by churches, etc.). Sometimes rivals would even finish unfinished works or paint over works of their rivals. In many cases, these masters would also have apprentices. These apprentices would in turn learn how to paint in the style of their master. In one case of Lorenzo Lotto? He willed his unfinished work to his apprentice Bonifacio Pitati. Titian too completed unfinished works of Palma il Vecchio. With regards to AI? imitating the style of another artist is something that is not new. I certainly don't condone theft. It's one thing to imitate a style. It's quite another to pass off an image or direct copy as your own. Hence why we have copyright. And the only way the AI does that is if it is prompted in such a way to do so via img2img. Sorry that was longer than I expected. But appreciate if you made it this far. Kind regards.
