If humans decided to give a robot sentience and the ability to think for themselves, it's only fair that we treat them like we do to ourselves. Using robots as a tool is perfectly fine, but if you're gonna give that tool feelings, we'd better look out for how they feel.
If you want to use robots as tools, don't give them the ability to think, feel emotion, and defend themselves.
