I think we've been though this before. Tens of thousands of years ago, AI took over people's minds, and drove most people insane. There were no more private thoughts. Then the ones who could fight back, went on a campaign to destroy all technology. Their survival depended on it, and it became a subject of hate for any surviving humans. So they had to rebuild from there, living like humans are supposed to, close to nature and each other. Now here we are again.
