Actually...the use of ai in this instance is not the use of a tool...they used ai to create the WHOLE thing...all he did was put in a prompt...you wouldn't call the commissioner of a piece the creator of that piece...you can't call the person that put forward a simple prompt the creator of an ai art piece.
Use of ai as a tool...is say...using it to create references that you yourself do not have for a piece and then going and making your own actual art...
You never see a construction worker telling a hammer to build an entire house right? They use the hammer as a tool to help them with something they simply cannot do on their own... they pick up the tool, use it for the task it is needed for, then put it down... they don't tell the tool a prompt and thensit back sipping gin
