Did I blank out, or did you just forget to mention that a good portion of the AI art programs out there were created by using other's, unpaid for, art? I think that is one of the biggest sticking point for people; I can create AI art in the style of an artist, because they stole his art and used it in their algorithm, by simply writing "in the style of x".
There are other issues of course, but I think that's the big one for many - destroying people's careers by stealing their art.
