The thing people need to realize before too late is that these multi-billion dollar companies are the ones in control of AI and they're going to use it to increase their profits at the expense of anything; including the livelihoods of American workers.
A Universal Basic Income would help people but it won't necessarily be a ticket to being lazy and not working. People out there getting disability and govt assistance ... Not all are literally bumming through. Many want to work but are worried they would lose their assistance and not be able to live.
If they can give us everyone American a UBI and have it so that it's not something that would be used as a deterrence, I think more Americans would be fine wit it, spend money, and boost the economy.
If the govt is worried about taxes they can (Oh I don't know) actually tax the super rich instead of letting them get away with not paying taxes through technicalities and loopholes?
