I think the main problem in AI development is that even if the programming was sophisticated enough to instill some sense of care for the continued propagation and prosperity of humans, the AI entity, whether it’s a computer on your desk or the phone in your hand, doesn’t see humans the way other humans do; i.e., with conscience, an understanding of their physical experience, or with a tangible empathy that we develop through community during the course of our lives.
