It’s OK, the algorithms that are currently labelled AI aren’t. ChatGPT has no understanding of what it’s writing. Look at those lawyers who used it to write their case without bothering to critically read what it produced. Or read it at all, really, since the one responsible claimed he thought it a search engine like Google, yet the work produced included repeated clear disclaimers about being a language model and having no access to online legal libraries. It’s a tool - a cleverly designed tool, certainly, but incapable of creativity, of synthesising something truly new from the information it has access to.
