AI is a valid tool wich arguably is not that different to any tool replacing an specific human-labored work, and it is still on a point in wich it can't compete with good artists, so I'd say it is just filtering quality and replacing low standards art sold by people that overpriced their work and now it is a niche that is accesible to more people for personal enjoyment.
Now, I'd not call them artists (for now) as far as that may be important.
Nowz about selling it: If you actually can offer something that others can't the demand and buying paradigm applies, although it is so accesible right now with no mayorly personalized possibilities that I'm surprised people pay per art instead of paying for the subscription of main AI apps
