My opinion about it is nuanced - while the technology is useful and really cool, there are many ethical considerations and issues relating to it, even if we ignore the immediate negative reaction of people to AI content - do I want to be contributing to a tool intended to replace illustrators? Is AI art as valuable as human art? Is it even necessary when the job it does is often worse than what you can do with enough skill and practice? What about impersonation? Is it ethical to use a tool trained on tons of existing artists without their consent to it in order to poorly replicate their style? What about the soullessness?
