When AI pushes the envelope of the ability of humans to distinguish between right and wrong, no safety net is going to stop it. The money trap is going to prevail as it has done with our lives thus far - the COVID measures that were unfurled on humanity in the name of profit comes to mind. "Constructive destruction" seems to be an all pervasive modality --- we are unable to live peacefully. If humanity is to survive, there has to be a continuity of building upon our achievements and not one of constantly destroying our accomplishments.
