I enjoyed your commentary. Everything you presented is sound and relatable. Thanks for sharing. A large issue with "AI" is some of the companies supporting it (and the "brutal truth" is that the ones I'm referring to are fueled by greed - and all that entails). AI is presently a tool that, in many cases, requires more management/oversight than it produces results. It also has a negative stigma associated with it. That typed, the term AI (like many other words) was appropriated/co-opted by ubiquitous marketing teams/the uninformed and is now misused/abused much of the time and being applied to things it has little, if anything, to do with. Regarding coding, my experience has been that it's often easier to develop a project from scratch (which doesn't mean ) rather than be brought in to fix and/or update existing projects in any stage. All this typed, I'm fascinating by AI. The concepts of AI dreamed up by science fiction authors long before my time remain a ghost in the machine that haunts me. The idea (and discussion) of sentient machines^ is intriguing - and can be approached from and lead to nigh infinite directions. ^ which, granted, is taking "AI" not just to the next level, but a different plane - although I think this is what many people think of when hearing "AI"
