Bernie, I completely agree with you, however, I implore you to read this comment. Let me fill you in on why AI wouldn't be able to wipe out the working class in the US even if the companies tried: 1. Income tax makes up 60 - 90% of governmental income. For the military, services and anything to be used you need income tax and wiping out the middle class (Majority of americans) would lower the amount of tax coming in so substantially it would cause governmental collapse. For reference, we know Donald Trump wants power and therefore would not willingly give up his power to the billionaires, he would derail them. 2. Service companies and Product companies would die. Alot of service and product companies are ALL MISSING THIS WHEN FIRING WORKERS. When a super intelligent AI comes along, the need for expert advice from service companies would die off, even losing investors ALL of their money, bringing them back down to ground zero. Product companies would feel this too as we know that when the economy is in a decline, people tighten their spending, directly losing product companies a lot of money percentage wise too. And if all service companies disappear, no one has any money and boom, product companies that specialize in non-essentials evaporate too. 3. Energy expenditure. To power an actual ASI to do these jobs you would need to use the worlds entire power system, the human brain runs at an estimated 15w when extrapolated out, AI runs at thousands times this just for simple queries and questions, let alone Accounting, Law and Medical work. Energy expenditure is not infinite, even if Fission power comes along later, and therefore the AI can only get so smart before data centers need to open up internationally AND even then studies have shown ASI couldn't even be powered if they rerouted all energy globally. In summary, it's a pipe dream. 4. Water expenditure. Now say magically they do manage to find a way to get enough energy, to power that they usually need water and once again water is FINITE. There is only so much that can be used before the public strikes back, companies lose access and AI progression halts, yet another roadblock. 5. Lastly, the human element. I can guarantee you that if majority of Americans turned unemployed because of billionaires they wouldn't sit around, there'd be a full scale civil war with people sabotaging data centers. These people are not invincible. Jailbroken versions of their systems already exist globally which can be used against them if they weaponize AI itself against the people. They are fools. I hope you read this Bernie but these are 5 simple reasons (Among many others) why these billionaires who are seeing dollar signs are actually digging their own graves financially, socially and literally.
